Fely and I are both Engineers. We graduated from the same University. Fely: an Industrial Engineer and me (Benj): a Licensed Mechanical Engineer. We both worked for Multi-national companies as Managers before our conversion to businessmen, and missionaries of financial literacy. We had spent more than 25 years of our life in the corporate world and planned that we retire from the company that we worked with. We never had any business of our own. We were employees for so many years and we were happy being just like that.
We earn very well and lived comfortably. We have cars, properties, and paper assets. We have rental incomes and we had set up our minds for retirement in the company we are working with. We thought that our retirement money will be more than enough for us to live the lifestyle and dreams we have for our retirement. But, reality hit us one day when Fely was identified to be retired from her job before she even turned 50.
A double whammy hit us after another year for it was my turn to be retired at age 52. We panicked, or should I say actually double panicked! Here we are in this stage of our life with so much experience and expertise, but jobless. We searched for jobs local and international and offers come in trickles and with low pay. We got job offers in a lower post with almost ¼ of our previous salary.
But God is really good and He always provide. We searched for financial literacy seminars and books to finally prepare for a shift from a career in the manufacturing world into business. We knew we will have difficulty in finding a job so we must be able to set up our own business. We bought and read books by Bro Bo and Robert Kiyosaki. We attended the Financial Coaching seminar by Bro Bo. This gave us the basic information and sparked in us the desire to create our own business.
What we thought as a career disaster in our life became the turning point for a big business venture. This book we have written entitled "SIMPLE CLEAR FAST DOABLE BUSINESS… You Can Do It Too" details how we started and how we became champions in our business.
